How Much Does it Cost to Join Local 487 ?
Initiation Fee:
There is an initiation fee of $1000.00. This amount must be submitted with your application. We offer a payment plan for this amount, with a $300.00 down payment, and payments of $175.00 per quarter until paid in full, if you appear before a membership meeting and request this payment plan.
Application Fee:
There is an application fee of $100.00.This is a one-time fee.
Per Capita Dues:
All members pay $55.00 per calendar quarter ($220.00 per year). New applicants must pay for at least the quarter in which they are joining.
Work Assessment:
Studio Mechanics pay four percent (4%) of their gross wages to Local 487 as work assessment. This assessment funds the operation of the Local.
All New Members are required to attend a New Members Seminar where they will receive detailed information on our Benefits Plans, Obligations of Members, Work Rules and Regulations, Educational Programs, The Constitution & By-Laws, and your responsibilities as a union member.
